Pesach Cheder this Sunday!

It’s time for a Pesach Cheder!
Sunday March 25th

Pesach Themed Cheder
10am – 12.15pm
£2 for non members, 50p for members

12.30pm Chametz in Egypt! 
Watch the Prince of Egypt (PG)whilst eating a falafel,
pita, cake and popcorn!
Children £2.50 Adults £4

Pesach Themed Cheder

10am 
Welcome and songs (Modeh Ani, Shema, numbers to 10, Aleph bet).
Breif intro to Pesach and splitting the kids into groups.
10.30am 
The older children will do a challah vs Matzah making workshop
They’ll get to see the difference between the two and learn about Matzah and why we eat it at Pesach.
The younger groups will take part in Pesach themed arts and craft activities.
11.10am
The younger group(s) will take part in a baking activity.
The older groups will split into their 2 groups, the older to learn about Pesach through group discussion and activities- thinking about the exodus, what that means for us, being a stranger in foreign lands, etc. The younger group will be learning through games and crafts.
11.45am 
We’ll come together to say blessings over fruit/veg/ kosher snacks and eat them!
12.15 End.

Please bring your kids in clothes that you dont mind being stained/ or bring an apron/old shirt for them to wear to protect their clothes.

Please bring snacks with a Hechsher (kosher symbol) or fresh/ dried fruit or veg. It’s always lovely when people bring a little extra so there’s some to share with friends.

Cheder costs 50p for members or £2 for non-members per child.

There’ll be a space set up for younger children to play and eat too, as the film is long and a little scary.

Matanot La’evyonim

One of the special Purim Mitzvot is Matanot La’evyonim, giving gifts to the Jewish needy. There will be a special collection box in the Shul on Purim which will be distributed to local Jewish families in need of support and to the poor in Israel.

You can also donate online here and your gift will be distributed on Purim day. (Please mark your donation “Purim”.)

Do you know of someone in the community who is housebound and unable to join the Purim celebrations? If so, please contact Rabbi Mendy Singer so we can schedule a home visit to bring the warmth and joy of Purim to their door.

Children’s Service: Mishpatim

Children’s Service this Shabbat
Saturday, February 6th

Join us at our gentle parent-led children’s service this Shabbat at Park Row Synagogue.

We’ll be retelling and discussing this week’s Parsha (Torah story), Mishpatim, singing songs, and playing games.  The service will be followed by a small kiddush.

Children of all ages welcome! 

Tu BiShvat

Join us for a family walk, Tu Bishvat walk in the woods. BYOpicnic to share with others in Leigh Woods and celebrate the New Year of the Trees.
